Last week, Alejandro Martinez and Ricardo de la Cueva from Integration Consulting had the opportunity to participate in the monthly meeting of the Logistics Committee at ConMéxico, the Mexican Association of Consumer Goods companies. The meeting included the participation of representatives from numerous big-name players.

Alejandro and Ricardo presented on a very interesting topic: establishing shared business services (SBS) within logistics operations. They highlighted a real-life success case that Integration was involved in with a global beverage company in Latin America. This case went on to become a business model that the company is utilizing for global adoption – currently being rolled out across its European operations.

The key takeaway from the presentation is that centralizing logistics operations is indeed possible and offers important benefits for companies. However, success depends on taking a careful approach when defining the model, from ensuring robust communication plans to establishing a phased deployment strategy and getting different BUs on board through cooperation and field visits.
